I just finally decided to move my blog, for certain reasons. One, the e-mail account I used for that blog was very old, and I just don't like it anymore. Two, I was too lazy to import and export things. Better get a fresh, new start, SINCE I'M NOW 20.What the hell.
Let's just say, my previous blog was for my teenage years, and this blog onwards shall be my...adulthood. This saddens me, really. Even though it has only been 2 days since my birthday, but still, I can't deny the fact that I'm not a teenager anymore. Anyways, enough with the depressing talk about age already! Of course, since I just turned 20, I had to celebrate it with my parents who came for a visit and my friends who are still in Brisbane for the summer!
I have to say that this birthday was the first one where I actually got surprised by my friends right on 12 am of 6th January! I was pretty pleased, because I was so desperate since most of my friends went back to Jakarta for the summer and apparently the rest of my friends were very thoughtful to surprise me. They bought a small delicious cake for me, which was pretty weird because for the last couple of birthday surprises, I was the one who made the cakes for everyone else. Anyways, when it was time to open the gifts, almost everyone gave me gifts that would support me to keep on baking cakes, such as aprons, cake stands, oven mittens, etc. Later that night, we went to this Korean BBQ dinner at Hanwoori, which was lovely.
For one of my gifts, I specifically asked my dad to buy me a new macbook pro (since my 3 years old macbook air got really slow...) and so he did! Just yesterday, we went to Chermside to go to the Apple Store. I have to say, I was very pleased with the service here. The staff was very helpful (and there are HEAPS of them, unlike in the Apple Store in Jakarta...which has only 3 staffs and most of the time just chatting to each other...) and very friendly. It encouraged me to ask a lot of questions without seeming to make a fool of myself. Oh and the guy who helped me was really hot.
ANYWAYS, after we finished the transaction, another guy helped me to set up my new laptop, but since I wasn't really that new to macbook laptops, I got to finish it pretty fast (compared to the totally-new-to-apple guy next to me). When I was done, the guy packed my laptop and asked, "would you like a clap out?" and I was like "NOOOO....!!!" but he insisted, saying like it only happens once in a very while, but I insisted as well. As I smiled and turned my back on him, he started clapped madly and shouted, "CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW MACBOOK PRO!" I swear I felt like he congratulated me as if I was going to get married or something. Then the whole store - I mean, the WHOLE store which was VERY crowded! - clapped and shouted in joy. That was when I started to power walk myself out from the store.
After I walked out with a very red face, I just regretted that I acted that way. I knew I should've raised my laptop with pride and wave my hands in excitement. But oh well, what's done is done. That was a very pleasant experience, though! Thumbs up for the Apple Store staff, you guys are awesome!
Now I really have to go to sleep. I have a group presentation tomorrow for PSYC3152 (developmental psychology), wish me luck!
